Cinqueterre... the beauty of 5

Have you ever heard of Cinque Terre?
Cinque Terre means Five Lands and comprises five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.

Cinque Terre is a very popular touristic destination but can not be reached by car. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages.

The first historical documents on Cinque Terre date back to the 11th century. That's quite a while, no?
In order to conserve the ecological balance, protect the landscape, and safeguard the anthropological values of the location, Cinque Terre has been listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO.
